Got to spend a great day taking photos last weekend. I had to travel to Sydney (about 3.5hrs away), and managed to get to the disused tram depot that I'd been wanting to visit for a while, as well as stopping off at anumber of places on the way home. Result was a good 300+ photos shot throughout the day. The last photos I took were of a ruined stone building as I stood amongst the gravestones in an old country cemetery at the last moments of dusk.
By the end, I was trying to navigate my way back to my car in near pitch black without falling over any gravesites ... got to admit, it was kind of scarey.
The upshot is a bit of a photographic reinvigoration after having felt "flat and uninspired" for a while. Sometimes encountering that unusual subject can reinspire the creative juices.
